What is Social Outcome Fund?

Social Outcome Fund (SOF) is an innovative approach by the government to finance social intervention programmes by Social-Purpose Organisations (SPOs) for addressing social issues.


Terms & Conditions

Social Outcome Fund (“Fund”)

  1. Eligibility is as follows:
    • This Fund is open to all Social-Purpose Organisations (SPOs) including Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs), social businesses, social enterprises etc;
    • SPOs must be registered with either the Companies Commission of Malaysia (CCM) or Registry of Societies Malaysia (ROS) or Malaysia Government Ministries / Departments / Agencies and/or possess a valid operating license from a local authority (if applicable);
    • MUST BE involved in implementing social intervention project and are willing to expand and scale up their social intervention project (hereinafter referred to as “Project”); and
    • MUST NOT receive any type of funding and/or grant from any Government Ministries / Departments / Agencies on the Project proposal submitted.
  1. The Project proposal can be new or existing social intervention project which addresses any of the 40 social issues identified in Social Progress Assessment (SPA). The duration of the proposed Project is preferably for one (1) year period. The softcopy of the SPA report is available for reference at The Project proposal should adopt the concepts of preventive interventions.

  1. Participants are allowed to submit more than one (1) project proposal.
  1. Eligible Participants will be notified via phone or email and may be requested to provide further information.
  1. By applying for this Fund, Participants agree to receive future correspondences from Agensi Inovasi Malaysia (AIM).
  1. Participants applying for this Fund agree to AIM’s decision on all matters relating to the Fund including but not limited to selection of the Fund recipients and no correspondence and/or appeal will be entertained.
  1. Participants agree to access AIM’s UReka website at regular intervals to view the terms and conditions and to ensure to be kept up-to-date on any changes and/or variations made to the terms and conditions thereof.
  1. AIM reserves the exclusive rights to modify, change, amend, delete or add to the terms and conditions hereunder without prior notice. Participants participating in this Fund agree to be bound by such amendment.
  1. Participants shall consider to have read, understood and agreed to be bound by the terms and conditions stated herein. It is the Participant’s responsibility to ensure that they are eligible to participate in this Fund.
  1. AIM will not be responsible for any cost of travelling, accommodation and any other expenses incurred for participating and/or attending any presentation session.
  1. AIM will not be liable for any injuries, loss or damage of any nature whatsoever (including but not limited to indirect or consequential loss) except for any liability which cannot be excluded by law.
  1. AIM reserves the right to disqualify entries which are deem obscene or inappropriate or fraudulent without any prior notice.
  1. By having accepted the terms and conditions contained herein, the Participants understand and acknowledge that the information disclosed in the application form, as well as information obtained in the course of the Fund; are collected and stored in AIM’s managed data base, which shall be used and administered solely by AIM for the purpose of providing its services, implementing its Fund, to monitor and process the submission made by the Participants.
  1. The Participants participating in this Fund shall comply and abide by all laws, regulations, rules in Malaysia and guidelines stated in this terms and conditions. AIM shall not be liable for any loss and/or damages and/or breach of such laws, regulations, rules and guidelines whether the loss, damages or breach is caused directly or indirectly by the Fund.
